My Daughter Made Dinner And It Was Made Of Win.

This is a sponsored review by BlogHer and Newman's Own.

With two children, a job, and a house to keep clean, I am always on the lookout for meal options that are not only quick, but also good for us. My children are not picky eaters, but sometimes getting them to agree on dinner is a challenge.

My children always agree on pizza.

They were very excited when I told them we were having pizza for dinner, so excited that my daughter decided she would make it.

Newman's Own Thin & Cripy Pizza is all natural and contains no artificial ingredients and zero grams of transfat so I can feel good about the children eating it. My daughter decided to pair ours with fresh fruit and a salad. With 25% less carbs per serving than regular rising crust pizza, I, along with my waist, can feel good about eating it.

After the chef in charge of dinner set the table, she decided to play video games and I'm going to be straight, we almost burned the pizza. The box states 10-12 minutes in a 425 degree oven, but our pizza was done after about seven minutes. It could be my oven, so perhaps next time I would turn down the heat a bit, but other than that, it was so easy a nine year old could do it. And did.

I don't think I have ever had dinner on the table so fast. Come to think of it, my daughter is the one that had dinner on the table so fast. Newman's Own apparently is not good for my self-esteem, but since Newman’s Own Foundation continues Paul Newman’s commitment to donate all profits to charity and over $300 million has been given to thousands of charities since 1982, it is tasty and my children cleaned their plates, I will probably let it slide.

Now if I could just get my daughter to do the dishes.

We Got Flavor Yes We Do

This is sponsored content
from BlogHer and Coffee-mate.

When I was growing up, I led an exciting life.

I was a lonely orphan with curly red hair that was always in the depths of despair.

I had an little accident involving my magic crystals and a peach tree.

I lived on the prairie and the grasshoppers ate our wheat crops.

I shared a red Fiat with my twin sister and wore a kicky gold lavalier while eating at the Dairi Burger.

And my adventures? Well, they were made possible by the local public library.

Every other Saturday, my mother would load us up, my sisters and I, and drive off to the library. Our family home was on a farm out in the country and making the thirty minute drive into town was one way my mother tried to bring flavor to our small town lives. I mean, we lived so far out in the sticks we couldn't even get a satellite dish, we had FOUR television channels. We would take turns looking up books in the card catalogs (it was the 80's people) and running down the aisles to find them on the shelves. We were allowed to check out as many books as we could carry. I remember the clerks at the library making a fuss over us one by one and taking the time to stamp our due dates into the front cover of each book.

Now that I have children, I take them to the library. They each have "library bags" that they decorated and they love to fill them with books of their choosing.

My only hope is they grow up and remember, like I do, their first taste of adventure, the ones brought to them by the pages of a book.
